Duda, Dolores H. (Kascak) Age 80, of West Homestead, PA, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018, after a strong battle with cancer.

Dolores was born August 27, 1938, in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Peter and Stephanie Kascak. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Rose Marie Duda and Roberta Kyle, and her brother Richard Kascak. She was a registered nurse (RN) and spent her entire life devoted to the care and comfort of others. She graduated from the Montefiore Hospital School of Nursing in 1959 and worked as a registered nurse at various hospitals over the years, including McKeesport Hospital, Forbes Hospital, Magee-Womens Hospital, and West Penn Hospital. Once retired from hospital duty, she continued in the field of home health care and actively worked at Comfort Keepers until January of this year, providing care and companionship to those in need. She was an avid sports fan (devoted to watching the Steelers, Penguins, Pirates, and Pitt) and enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. Known to those close to her as "Ms. Betty Crocker," she was an extremely talented baker. She is survived by her children, Donald (Patricia) of Jefferson Hills, Darrin (Irene) of Upper St. Clair, and Douglas of West Homestead; grandchildren Gracie, Stephanie, Mac, Alexandra and Ryan; also cousins, nieces and nephews. Dolores deeply loved her family, and her five grandchildren brought her tremendous joy. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially her family. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Sunday, December 30, 2018, 2-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Monday morning at 9:45. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Apostles Parish in Holy Angels Church, 408 Baldwin Road, Pittsburgh, 15207, at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to American Cancer Society.
