Age 95, of Baldwin, formerly of Bloomfield, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Tuesday, November 28, 2023.

Husband of the late Dolores R. Scapes; father of Domenic R. (Kathy) Scapes and Debra G. (Dennis) Hirsh; grandfather of Sean Scapes, Erin (Rick) Harbaugh, Chad (Marisa) Hirsh and Alyssa (Ryan) Moore; great-grandfather of Nolan Harbaugh and Bradley Moore; son of the late Peter and Elvira Scapes; brother of Gloria (the late JR) Ranallo and the late John (the late Olive) Scapes. Dom served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, worked 28 years as a crane operator for Pittsburgh-Des Moines Steel Co., was a member of VFW Post #1810 where he participated in the Billiards Club. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Monday morning at 9:45. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Albert the Great Church at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
