Obituary For Donald E. Sauer

July 11, 1954 - December 17, 2018

Sauer, Donald E., age 64, peacefully surrounded by his family and after a courageous battle, on Monday, December 17, 2018. Beloved husband of 45 years to Virginia "Ginny" (Fundis) Sauer; loving father of Darryl A., Katherine M. (Ryan Sylvester) and Rebecca A. (Neal) Mehrenberg; proud grandfather of Luke, Derek, Hollie and Anna; devoted son of Darlene M. (Matuszak) and the late Donald R. Sauer; brother of Cynthia Homol, Kevin and Duane Sauer and the late Darlene Sauer. Also survived by an uncle, several nieces, nephews, many loving cousins and in-laws and numerous friends. Don served in the U.S. Air Force and was an active 33rd Degree Mason of Lodge #45. He took great pride and honor in advising his many clients as a certified financial planner. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. A Rosary Prayer on Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. in St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church, Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. EVERYBODY PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 N.     Don was a great friend and brother. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him or had the pleasure to speak with him. An honorable Veteran and Mason of which there is no doubt. Whom can never be replaced nor his memory of being so generous,helpful and friendly not to forget humorous towards others. It was an honor to travel with you my brother- see you on the other side.
