Obituary For Donald Reed

Passed peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, of Allentown.

Cherished father of Heather Reed, Brian Reed, Wendy (Corky) Heisler and the late Donnie Reed; grandfather of Ryann, Nathan, Jordan (Breanna), Brian Jr. and Chelsey (K.J); great-grandfather of Kylie, Ethan and Layla; son of the late James and Anne Reed; brother of Sue (David) Bodrog and the late James Reed and Tom Reed. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday, January 5, 2025 from 2-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held privately.

    I knew Don and his family from St. George church and school. However, I got to know him best from working with him for the Athletic Association. Our kids played basketball together and we spent many hours working so the kids could enjoy playing there. May Don rest in peace. My sympathy to his children and his sister Suzie.

    Don and I go back to 1st grade at St. George Elementary....and continued til my departure of that school in our Junior year. We were altar boys together, played wiffle ball in the alley, and basketball at "The Hoop" I have been gone from Pgh since 1963 so I do not know much more about him. He was a nice guy and friend.
