Obituary For Donna Jean (Nix) Mirenna

Age 75, of South Park, passed away on Monday, September 10, 2024. Born January 26, 1949 in Pittsburgh, PA.

She is the wife of the late Mark Mirenna; daughter of the late Mary Jean (Bombara) Nix and William J. Nix, Jr.; mother of the late Marc (Vikki) Mirenna and Jason (Heather) Mirenna; sister of Denise (Thomas) Panasko; grandmother of Joel, Justin, Jacey, Jerzy and Hayden Mirenna; aunt of Jessica (Matt) Brown; great aunt to Dominic and Daniel Brown. She loved supporting them in all their endeavors and was a proud Mamaw and Maga. She also loved doing puzzles in her free time. She will be remembered as a family-oriented woman who was the glue that held us together. Donna was preceded in death by her husband, son and mother. She will be missed by all who knew her. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Catherine Labouré Parish, St. Joan of Arc Church at 10:00 a.m.

    The Mirenna family house was the unofficial center of our high school years, and Donna watched over all of us as almost her own children with love and laughter. Things that will never be forgotten, along with her spirit of the joy of life. All of our hearts are broken, but all the great memories spent on Sangate will help heal us all.
