Shemonitz, Dorothea J. (Perla) "Dorothy", age 95, on Sunday, May 17, 2020, of Beechview, formerly of Mt. Washington. Beloved wife of the late Michael; sister of the late Adalgesia "Jessie" Angelina, Virgil, Licia "Lee" Ottaviano, Louis, Rose Walter, Vera Greenstone, Agatha Faulds and Daniel; survived by her loving goddaughters Barbara (Jim) Emmett and Dorothea "Dee" Walter and many loving nieces, nephews and their families. Dorothy was retired from the Pittsburgh Press and Post-Gazette after working many years as a manager in the classified advertisement department. Services will be held privately. Arrangements by the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. June 19, 2020 We are sorry for your loss. My heartfelt sympathies go to Dee and Barbara and all the family during this sad time. My mom, Albina, went to heaven exactly 6 weeks before Dorothy arrived there.
