July 27, 1923 - January 4, 2017

Rodgers, Edward Francis Age 93, on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, formerly of Pleasant Hills. Husband of 63 years to the late Maureen (Ackman) Rodgers; father of Kathleen (Larry) Konsin, Mark (Elaine) Rodgers, Cynthia Hanley, Marian (William) Lang, Sheila Rodgers, Daniel (Sheila) Rodgers, Maura (Kevin) Brand, Thomas (Ginger) Rodgers, Vincent (Hoang Oanh) Rodgers, Edward (Karen) Rodgers and Patrick (Patty) Rodgers; 29 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, 15227, Saturday and Sunday, January 7 & 8, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Monday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church at 10 AM. Family suggests contributions to The Little Sisters of the Poor, 1028 Benton Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15212 or one's favorite charity in Edward's memory. He often told us "I'm a lucky man" and we're all lucky to have had him in our lives.

    I will miss him too. I was hoping to get to visit him again this summer. I am sure he is enjoying heaven with his cousin, my dad and my mom. He had a great life.
