Uncle Blackie - the latest and last of my dear uncles to be called home. While he will be missed by those of us left behind, he remains in our memories always. I will remember him as the soulful crooner at joyful family gatherings such as weddings and Serbian Christmas. If memory serves me correctly, the song I most associate with Uncle Blackie is Cole Porterâ??s â??Begin the Beguineâ??. So, for Uncle Blackie, I offer here the last line of that song: â??And we suddenly know, what heaven weâ??re in, When they begin the beguine.â?? Vjecnaja Pamjat (Memory Eternal)
