Obituary For Elaine Ann Battista

March 18, 1953 - February 13, 2017

Battista, Elaine A. (Grzelka), age 63, on Monday, February 13, 2017 of Knoxville. Beloved wife of Harry E. Battista; loving mother of Phillip L. Battista; daughter of the late Frank and Anne (Lipovsky) Grzelka; sister of Francis and Ronald Grzelka; aunt of Michelle Rud and Michael Grzelka; great-aunt of Gage, Walker, Declan, and Teagan. Elaine was a graduate of Duquesne University, a teacher at Southside Catholic and the Median School of Allied Health. She was a Domestic Relations Officer with the Allegheny County Family Division. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday and Friday, February 16 & 17, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Saturday morning at 9:00. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret of Scotland Church at 10:00 a.m.

    To Harry and Phil, I am so sorry for your loss. Elaine was a very smart and funny lady. I know she loved Jasmine and thought about her often. I would like to think that Jasmine treated her at the gates of Heaven and walks with her now.

    Elaine and I grew up on the same block of Zara St. We actually got 'married' when we were kids. I haven't seen her in many years, but I do occasionally see Francis. My sincere condolences to him and Ron and all her family and friends. God bless. Chip Pajak
