Beck, Eleanor June (Arch)

Who let her light shine for 92 years in Baldwin, PA, passed peacefully on October 1, 2017. She was in the presence of her daughter, Sandra, at Overlook Green Assisted Living Community. In heaven, she joins her beloved husband Benjamin Leo Beck, her parents Mary and John Arch, and her cherished grandson, Michael John Dominick. Eleanor was a loving mother to Sandra Arch-Evans (Gary Doyle) and Gary John Beck (Denise). Recently, the light of her life was her great-grandson Alex Michael Dominick, age 2. She held her granddaughters, Lisa Janine Dominick and Tammy Marie (Arthur) Jones in loving prayer. She loved her great-grandchildren Payton and Amani Jones whose academic and athletic successes were a source of pride for her. Eleanor was an active and contributing member to the Whitehall United Presbyterian Church for many years and an active citizen in Baldwin Borough, where she worked regularly at the voting polls. She was a Sunday school teacher at Bethany Lutheran Church, active in the PTA at Wallace School, and a lifelong member of the Slovene National Benefit Society. Eleanor and her family and friends will live on through her contributions to The Baldwin Historical Society. Her loving and nurturing spirit will be included in the many cherished memories of her friends and family who witnessed her devotion and powerful demonstrations of prayer. She was also known for her pumpkin roll, orange cookies, and most of all, her legendary potato salad. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Saturday, October 7, 2017, from 9-11 a.m. where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Jefferson Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital. Contributions may be received on the day of the funeral or may be mailed to: P.O.     Eleanor was my most favorite and delightful cousin! She and Ben were such lights. She was a most compassionate and fun and liviest person. We shall miss her enormously.
