Gottus, Elisabeth D.

Age 73, beloved wife, sister, aunt, cousin, co-worker, and friend, Elisabeth passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025 in Pittsburgh, PA. She was born in Sant Angelo Del Pesco, Italy on March 30, 1951, to the late Louis and Nicolette D'Abruzzo. Elisabeth is survived by her husband, Ronald, whom she loved and cared for deeply. Sister of Joe (Marilyn) D'Abruzzo, Louis (Pamela) D'Abruzzo, Maria (Bernard) Rohe, the late Carmen, the late John (survived by Donna), and the late Michael (survived by Carol) D'Abruzzo. She is also survived by her cherished nieces and nephews, Stephanie (Craig) D'Abruzzo-Shemin, Diana D'Abruzzo, John (Angie) D'Abruzzo, Anthony D'Abruzzo, Martha D'Abruzzo, Kate D'Abruzzo, and the late Gabriel D'Abruzzo; great nieces, Nicolette and Abigail D'Abruzzo and great nephew, Holden Stephenson.

Liz participated in many of the 10K races in the Pittsburgh area, and she finished the first three marathons in Pittsburgh.

A true humanitarian who lived a life of service to others and compassion for all, Elisabeth was a highly respected social worker in Early Childhood Development and retired from Achieva in 2014. She was a graduate of West Virginia University, where she earned a BS in Social Work and received an MA from the University of Pittsburgh. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., (412) 881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, Pennsylvania, 15227, on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Funeral Prayer on Thursday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Gabriel of The Sorrowful Virgin Church at 10am.
