Jackson, Elizabeth A. "Bette", age 90, formerly of Oakland, on Thursday, December 7, 2017, with her family by her side, passed away peacefully to be with our Lord, after battling a long illness with Parkinson's. Wife of 63 years to her lifelong sweetheart, the late James P. Jackson, also formerly of Oakland. They resided in Baldwin Boro for 54 years. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She touched so many lives by her genuine sweet, caring nature. She truly had a heart of gold. Beloved daughter of the late Phillip L. and Anna Gentile; sister of Edward, the late James and Thomas Gentile. Bette was deeply loved by her four children, James R. (Beverly) Jackson, Theresa (John) Mospan, John (Debbie) Jackson and Mary (Bill) Brown. Cherished grandmother of 15 grandchildren, Jimmy Stephanie, Michael, Rob, Michael, Chrissy, Kelly, Eric, David, Matthew, John, Beth, Brandon, Bryan and Kevin. Also cherished by 15 great-grandchildren. Bette will be deeply missed by all who knew her. We have lost our sweet angel here on earth to now be our forever angel in heaven. Friends and family will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. and Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 2-6 p.m. Funeral prayer on Monday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Sylvester Church at 10:00. This will be the first Christmas in 6 years that she will be spending with our father and all future Christmases.
