March 22, 1938 - July 3, 2014

Sterling, Elizabeth A. "Betty" (Cavanaugh), age 76, on Thursday, July 3, 2014 of Whitehall. Cherished wife of 55 years to Alfred; loving mother of Al (Sally), Harry (Kim), Linda (Will) Coleman, Amy (Jeff) Gruber and the late Michael Sterling; devoted grandmother of Jessica (Andy), Andrew, Julia, MaKayla, Erin, Maggie and Ella; great-grandmother of Anya; sister of Daniel Cavanaugh and the late Edward Cavanaugh and Rev. Harry Cavanaugh. Also survived by her special friend of 71 years, Jacqueline Moore, also a friend of Bill W. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Tuesday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church at 10:00 a.m. If desired, family suggests contributions to St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, 1 Grove Place, Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
