Obituary For Elizabeth B. (Wujko) McDonagh

Age 97, of Baldwin Boro, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 1, 2024.

Beloved wife of 65 years to the late Andrew J. McDonagh; loving mother of Mary Ann (Gary) Sedlacek, Andrew F., Sean (Kelly), Paul (Diane) and Brian (Nena); proud grandmother of Patrick McDonagh; daughter of the late Boleslaw and Anna Wujko; sister of Florence (the late William) Sullivan, Ruth (the late Walter) Long and the late Theresa, Felix, Edward, Richard, Raymond, Eugene and Joanna. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephew and their families. Elizabeth had a variety of administrative positions, including Kaufmann's, until starting her family. She was an accomplished pianist, she knitted hats for the homeless and enjoyed bird watching and bingo. Elizabeth's faith and her family were immensely important to her. In spite of her age, she had an acute understanding of recent technology. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday, February 11, 2024 from 12-4 p.m. Funeral prayer on Monday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in Triumph of the Holy Cross Church, St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Merakey/AVS (in honor of her son Andrew F.), 1996 Ewing Mill Road, Coraopolis, PA 15108.

Condolences

My sympathies to Elizabeth's daughter, sons, and grandson. It was my pleasure to have been appointed Elizabeth's home care personnel for about 3 months while she was at her home. I feel like I had known her for so much longer than that. Her wit and storytelling was remarkable for someone of her age. She taught me a lot about her IPad, her piano playing and her knitting. I will miss her calling me her "Angel" and her smile when she said it. God take you into his arms, Elizabeth.
