Obituary For Ernest Papi

March 4, 1914 - May 19, 2014

Papi, Ernest, age 100, on Monday, May 19, 2014 of Whitehall. Beloved husband of the late Lucy (Vicano) Papi; son of the late Primo and Ida Papi; brother of the late Inez Dreucci; survived by his nephew Lido (Florence) Dreucci, sister-in-law Rita (Albert) Vento, and many loving great nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Friday morning at 9:45. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church at 10:30 a.m. If desired, family suggests contributions to Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd., Suite 300, Attn: Donor Services, Jacksonville, FL 32256.

    May 21, 2014 Mr. and Mrs. Papi will always be remembered. They hold a special spot in our heart. We only knew them from their days at Saint David's Church, but visited them here and there throughout the years. They always enjoyed my boys in church and always remembered them, even though years had passed and they had grown. I enjoyed talking with them and hearing their stories and find peace to know they are happy together again. What a wonderful long life they lived together.
