Dear family of Bernice: My sister and I met your mother 6 years ago when our parents moved into the Devonshire. She was their neighbor across the hall and was so kind and welcoming during this rather tough transition for them. I know she could empathize with all the changes they were experiencing. It was a joy and comfort to see from the very first day, our parents had a good neighbor. Bernice and I shared a love of Williamsburg, VA. I always looked forward to seeing her when visiting my parents, now just my Dad, at the Devonshire. She was a joy and a sweetheart, always made you smile when talking with you. I will miss seeing her but know she is at peace with my Mom in heaven, reminiscing about their time at the Devonshire. May good memories comfort you. Jan Byers, daughter of Ed and Alberta Wenger
