Obituary For Eugene E. Zurawsky

April 21, 1929 - October 25, 2017

Zurawsky, Eugene E. "Gene", age 88, on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 of Whitehall. Beloved husband of 63 years to Adeline Palma Zurawsky; loving father of Gene (Karen) Zurawsky, Gary (Kathy) Zurawsky and Lisa (John) Donovan; proud grandpap of Kelly (Eric) Gregory, Jason (Mary) Donovan, Justin and Benjamin (Colleen) Thiry, Angela (Brian) Siegel, Kristina, Adam, Garrick, Kaitlin and Lauren Zurawsky; cherished great grandpap of Alexander and Connor Gregory and Sadie Palma Thiry; Gene was preceded in death by his parents Francis and Helen Zurawsky, brother Lawrence and infant brother, Francis. Also survived by sister-in-law, Susan Zurawsky and her family. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Gene worked for Metlife and American General Insurance Co. for many years as an agent, then for the Sports and Exhibition Authority at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center for 21 years, retiring at the young age of 81. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Monday morning at 8:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full Military Honors.

    I worked with Gene at the old convention center. We talked at the desk when I was stationed there about families. He enjoyed life. His Marriage. He was always so proud of his family. He talked about how his kids accomplishments. Then the Grandkids were the next on the list. Gene, Thanks for your service. You are a part of the greatest generation. You were a wonderful man and a gentleman. RIP. Thank you for sharing your life, your families life, and the world you accomplished so much in.

    So sorry to hear of Gene passing Our prayers are with you and your family. We lost our sister, Anita, on Oct 4 as well.
