June 10, 1946 - June 28, 2014

Herdman, Eugene "Gene" Age 68 on Saturday, June 28, 2014, of Overbrook

Beloved husband of Kathy (Smith) Herdman for 43 years; loving father of Dan (Jessica), Mike (Christine), and Steve Herdman; grandfather of Tylir, Cooper and Zack; son of the late Raymond and Mabel Herdman; brother of Doris English, Kathleen (Leonard) Boone, Ray (Sherry) Herdman, Blanche Carey and the late Paul Walker, Helen Filbert, Betty Schaefer, and Thelma Carey; son-in-law of Marcella Smith; brother-in-law of Eileen Mink, Marleen Smith, Marcy (Dave) Martinez and the late Dave Smith. Gene was a dedicated employee of ACCU-Copy Reprographics and a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War era. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm where a Blessing Service will be held on Wednesday, 10:00 am.

    Our deepest sympathies to Kathy,family and coworkers of Gene. We had the pleasure of working with Gene at Accu-Copy. He always had a joke to tell and a day never went by without a laugh thanks to Gene. He was a wonderful man.

    Kathy i am so sorry that your family and you have to go through this. i know exactly what you are going through. It is very hard in the beginning but it will get easier. I hope you have family that will help you through this tough time, i was lucky i had 2 very good sons to help me through it. I'm think of you.

    Dear Kathy and family, I am so sorry for your loss, I know what you are going through and it is a very rough road. If you feel the need to talk just call me. Gene was such a wonderful man. Everyone who came to know him was touched by his smile, warmth and true friendship. He was a good man and he will be missed. Please accept my deepest sympathy . You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Uncle John really liked Gene. I am sure they have met and are sharing family members that have gone before us. All my love, Aunt Carole
