Eugene "Geneo" J. Simeone left his earthly life for his eternal life on September 10, 2022 while at home. Geneo was surrounded by family as he spent his final days after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 11, 1937, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Alfred E. and Finisia Simeone. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in 1956. In 1957 he enlisted in the Army and served his country proudly and honorably while stationed in Germany. In 1961, Geneo married Debbie Jarmulowski and together they embarked on a wonderful life. Geneo at various times worked as a self-employed contractor and later at Stagno Bakery and Country Belle Dairy. Eventually, he worked for many years at Port Authority of Allegheny County and retired from there in 1999. Geneo’s life was filled with excitement and accomplishment, but he was most proud and most happy when he was with his family. He was quick witted and a joy to be around. He was often seen sharply dressed driving a new Lincoln. In many, if not all cases, he was the coolest guy in the room. Geneo was a long-time member of St Albert’s and Holy Angels and could often be found every morning at Holy Angels and then heading to the gym where he had numerous friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Carol Ellsler and his brothers-in-law, Kenneth Palmer, Richard Weltner and Henry Ellsler as well as a nephew Robert Weltner. Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Debbie as well as sons, Alfred (Mary Kay), Dominic (Maria) and Geneo (Kim). Additionally, surviving are his grandchildren David Blachford, Christina Stone, Danielle Younk, Savannah Simeone, Geneo Simeone and Amber Simeone as well as his great-grandchildren, Dominic and Dillon Stone and Declan Gloudeman. Also surviving are sisters Amelia Palmer and Rose Marie Weltner, brother-in-law Frank (Judy) Jansen, cherished friend Bonnie King and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Rd., Brentwood 15227, on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 from 1-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Wednesday at 9:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish at Holy Angels Church at 10:30 a.m. September 20, 2022 September 15, 2022 September 15, 2022 September 14, 2022 September 13, 2022 September 13, 2022 September 12, 2022 September 12, 2022 September 12, 2022 September 12, 2022 September 12, 2022 September 12, 2022 September 12, 2022 September 11, 2022 September 11, 2022 Contact Us to have your link and message added here.
