Obituary For Eugene H. Gales

Gales, Eugene H., age 85 passed on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, of Erie, formerly of Baldwin Borough.

Beloved husband of late Sheila McHale whom he was married to for 55 years; loving father of Daniel Gales and Amy (Shaun) Adrian; cherished grandfather of Douglas Gales, Rebecca (Cameron) Connolly, Emily Adrian and Connor Adrian; brother of John Robert (Shirley) Gales and Eileen Donnelly (Robert Mucha). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Gene graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and worked most of his career at Swindell Dressler as a job leader in concrete foundation design. He was a gentle and quiet man. He was an avid bowler who loved working on projects around the house. Gene loved spending time with his four grandchildren who called him Pap. One of his favorite pastimes was maintaining his Cadillac and keeping it in perfect condition. He was a contributing member of St. George Church in Erie, PA. Gene was a true gentleman who will be missed by all those that knew him. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 1527 on Sunday, July 18, 2021 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral prayers will be said on Monday morning at 9:45 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Sylvester Church, 3754 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15227 at 10:30 a.m.
