Kane, Jean Age 91, on Monday, April 11, 2016, formerly of Scranton, PA.

We tearfully say goodbye to Eugenia Marie Harding Kane, a loving mother, faithful friend, extraordinary bridge player, and stylish fashionista. Jean was born July 13, 1924. She was the widow of Atty. Joseph P. Kane of Throop. Jean and Joe were married for 50 years and raised their three daughters in Greenridge; Kristine (Joe) Demko of San Francisco, CA, Kathryn (Derek) Backa of Pittsburgh, PA and the late Frances A. "Frana" Kane; grandmother of Katie (Lee) London, Ryan Backa and Julia Backa; great-grandmother of Nora London; loving daughter of the late Frances J. and Anthony "Tony" Harding, a Central Scranton restaurant operator; sister of the late Kay Busch, Ann McGrath, Joseph Harding and Sally Saparito. Also survived by nieces and nephews. She held several career positions throughout her life including former owner of Jean Harding Dress Shop on Spruce Street and clerk at the Pennsylvania Unemployment Office in Scranton. As has always been Jean's style, she played her trump cards at just the right moment, and went out with class and dignity. Memorial Services for Jean will be held privately in Scranton, PA.
