Obituary For Frances Fordian

Age 73, on Monday, July 28, 2025, of Baldwin.

Beloved wife of 45 years to Michael A. Fordian; daughter of the late Joseph and Jenny (Alampi) Dascola; sister of Joanne (Richard) Wagner and Theresa (Del) Reed; aunt of Richard Wagner, Kevin Wagner, Krista Stockhausen, Joseph Reed, as well as many loved Fordian nieces and nephews.

Frances was born in Pittsburgh, attended St. Norbert School, and graduated from Carrick High School. She earned an Associate’s Degree in Child Development from the Community College of Allegheny County. Frances worked for Blue Cross/Blue Shield for over 36 years as a Major Medical Correspondent.

She enjoyed cooking, shopping, and hosting large family gatherings. Her other interests included sketching, drawing, and watching Westerns.

Fran was easygoing by nature. When relatives were petty or critical, her husband would ask, “Why do you put up with that?” She would simply say they were just having fun. She had promised her mother she would help keep peace in the family-and she did. Thanks to her long career in health insurance, she was always ready to help others with their Major Medical claims.

Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Friday, August 1, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Saturday morning at 9:45. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Albert the Great Church at 10:30 a.m. If desired, family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

I am so sorry to hear of Fran's passing. She was always so kind and thoughtful. She had a great laugh. We had so much fun on fishing trips. She always brought us lemons or limes for our drinks! Beth Ujevich Beckner

Please accept our deepest sympathies for the passing of Frances. My memory goes back to our childhood days and I remember her as always kind and thoughtful. We lost touch over the years but I share a sadness at her passing. May she rest in peace. Bill & Theresa Rocco DiPiero
