Obituary For Frances J. O'Malley

March 15, 1925 - July 25, 2018

O'Malley, Frances J. (Lordon), age 93, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 of Whitehall, formerly of Munhall. Loving wife of the late William Regis O'Malley; beloved mother of Mary Ellen (Robert) Martin; devoted grandmother of Thomas (Margaret) and Sean (Paulette) Martin and proud great-grandmother of Alexander Liam Martin. Frances worked in the Learning Assistance Center at Community College of Allegheny County. She was active in the Gaelic Arts Society, the Irish Nationality Room at the University of Pittsburgh, and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers Guild at St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Wednesday morning at 11:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church at 12:00 noon. Interment in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Pruitt Health Hospice of Eastern Carolina, 2313-A Executive Circle, Greenville, NC 27834

    I worked with Fran in the Learning Assistance Center years ago. She did not just work there, but Fran was the heart and soul of the center. It seemed she could answer any question and could find a solution to any problem. So sorry to hear of her passing , and my sincere sympathies to her family.
