Obituary For Fred Arthur Hight

May 8, 1922 - December 16, 2015

Hight, Fred Arthur Born May 8, 1922, passed peacefully on Wednesday, December 16, 2015. Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. He lived life to the fullest with no regrets. He was a beautiful person who loved a good time, and who was always spreading joy with his remarkable sense of humor and compassion. He was married to Dorothy, his soul mate of 62 years (who passed away one year ago); survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Larry Newberg and Cynthia and Richard Zuppello, and three granddaughters Taryn, Jessie and Alexis. Fred attended Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, West Virginia, and went on to work as a tax accountant for many years. He retired from PPG Industries in 1984. He was active in Baldwin Community United Methodist Church and The Southern Club of Pittsburgh. Fred would not want any tears for his passing . . . instead, I'm sure there's a huge party in heaven to welcome him. Life on earth will never be the same without him, but we will honor his memory by celebrating each day until we join him in life everlasting. We will forever love and miss you Dad. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at Noon. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to a charity of one's choice.

Fred was one of the friendliest and compassionate men I've ever known. He and Dorothy were tremendous friends to my mother. Fred had a story or joke for all occasions that made you smile. My condolences to his family, Tom McGuire
