Garrett Veloski's reminiscence's about Tom Grolemund remind me of the many years I spent working for Tom at Mellon Bank. Tom was among the most even-handed and smart people I ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was wise and continually made an effort to benefit the lives of those he dealt with.

Uncle Tom was always a source of inspiration and encouragement and continues to be. I have fond memories from nearly all Family gatherings and especially one in particular when he took me out fishing early at the Family camp on the Allegheny. In that brief time spent together, he was able to instill valuable lessons in responsibility, discipline and self-esteem that I attribute to preventing me from going off the deep end as a somewhat troubled youth. In retrospect, I believe his real objective was just that and not to catch fish. He spoke with wisdom, very concisely and with an organized train of thought which all of us have come to admire (reminding me much of Grandad). I only regret not having spent more time together as I still have much to learn.
