Obituary For Gabriel P. Baldesberger

Age 92, passed peacefully on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, of Pittsburgh.

Loving husband of the late Dolores "Dee Dee" Baldesberger; devoted father of Debbie Baldesberger and Diane (the late Ken) Baldesberger; caring Pap of Christy (David Stahl) Baldesberger; brother of the late Joseph Baldesberger, Andrew Baldesberger and Mary Brophy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Gabe had a quick-witted sense of humor and loved spending his time at his home in Florida. He was an avid fan of Pittsburgh sports, especially the Steelers. Gabe retired in 1992 after working for the Port Authority for 35 years. Gabe proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Friday, May 6, 2022 from 3-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Saturday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish, Holy Angels Church at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network) https://www.pancan.org/

    5/7/2022 One of the memories I have of Uncle Gabe and Aunt Dee is my first pair of street roller skates they gave me for Christmas, I think I was 7 years old, and I can still see those skates and Uncle Gabe standing right next to me!! Mary Ann

    I will never forgot going to the Steelers game with Mr Baldesberger and my Uncle Ken, what great memories. I also want to thank Mr Baldesberger for his generosity by allowing my family to stay in his Florida home on occasion. I will certainly miss his laugh and having a a few beers with Pap.
