Obituary For Gary A. Rauch, Sr.

Age 73, on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, of Carrick, formerly of Arlington.

Beloved husband of Judy (Holzer) Rauch and the late Janet (Tompel) Rauch; cherished father of Gary Jr. (Jeannie) Rauch and Anne (Philip) Reichner; stepfather of Adam (Christy) and Jason Lutz; loving grandfather of Emily, Jonathan, Paige and Parker; step grandfather of Carly, Evan and Nathaniel; son of Lois (Gloeckl) Feldmeier and the late Robert Rauch; brother of Darla Uram. Also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Gary was a longtime parishioner of St. Basil Parish. He volunteered at Norbert Place and the Baptist Home. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Saturday morning at 9:45. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Basil Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at a later date. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Paralyzed Veterans of America, 1000 Liberty Ave #429, Pittsburgh, PA 15222 or Wounded Warrior Project, 600 River Ave Suite 400, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.

    Condolences to you and family. I worked with Gary in the Post Office on the South Side. He was a good man. Took many trips with him and friends. I will see him on the fields of Gettysburg. Harry Mackowiak
