Gary over the years has provided my father and I with some of the greatest hunting memories we could ask for. Over the years Gary always let my father and I hunt his beautiful farm, with our Rimersburg friends and family we enjoyed seeing the progress he had made every year on the farm. Gary always kept us informed of any turkey sightings he had and what side of the farm we should focus on. Gary will be greatly missed by all of us, and on behalf of the Ed's friends from Indiana PA thanks for all the great memories and God Bless.

Always a pleasure to be around and kept things interesting and funny. I enjoyed officiating college football with him and listening to his stories. May God bless his family and comfort them during this time. Gary will be missed by soo many people. He was a great person.

I lost another wonderful friend. However the Gary memories will stay with me for the rest of my days here on this earth. The keeper of the Turtle Soup tradition that was passed down to him by his Parents, Tess and Bob. He and the rest of the family became expert Turtle Soup chefs, holding up the tradition at what became to be known as Gary's Farm. The bonfires on Soup day lit the sky well into the night , The pumpkins that Gary grew himself were distributed to all the children in attendance. A Tractor ride was always available. I could go on and on about the Shanahan family's generosity. Sadly tragedy has hit the Male member's of this family all too often. Goodby Gary we all Love you. Your friend forever Uncle Max

I will always remember my trip to the farm for Gary's turtle soup - a Shanahan tradition. Great memories of a man who always had a great story to share and a warm smile. Deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

Gary was a very wise man and gave amazing advice. I personally loved working for the guy, because he always pushed up to the limits and taught us a lot of things. My dad was never involved in my life and he was like a father to me in a sort of way. May he rest in peace
