Obituary For George C. "Huck" Baldauf

George C. “Huck” Baldauf, age 84, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Castle Shannon, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022 while under the care of Family Hospice and Palliative Care at Canterbury Place.

Born August 7, 1938, he was the son of the late George C. Baldauf, Sr., and Mildred Elizabeth (Kramer) Baldauf.

George was Catholic by faith. He belonged to the St. George Lyceum in the Allentown neighborhood of Pittsburgh, where he served on the board of directors, and several other local clubs in the area. He enjoyed playing card games and loved going to casinos, especially in Las Vegas and Atlantic City. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. Above all, George loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his brother, David L. Baldauf, and his wife, Linda J. (Dornberger) Baldauf, of Pittsburgh; his niece and nephew, Lisa M. Baldauf of Pittsburgh, and Eric D. Baldauf of Brentwood, as well as numerous other nieces and nephews; and his great-niece, Ashley L. Baldauf-Kreil (Elizabeth Fehr) of Pittsburgh.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce P. (Hipkiss) Baldauf, who passed away in 2011; his sister, Jean (Kramer) Smith; and his cat, Cleo.

Friends will be received 2:00-4:00 P.M. and 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 4201 Brownsville Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15227.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, August 26, 2022 at St. Mary of the Mount Catholic Church, 407 Grandview Ave., Pittsburgh PA 15211, with Father Donald Ware, officiating (Everyone please meet at church).

George will be laid to rest at Saint Michael Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in George’s honor to Family Hospice, Development Dept., 700 Bower Hill Rd., Suite 1405, Pittsburgh, PA 15243.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Boylan Funeral Home, Inc., Zelienople, PA.

    My best memories of Uncle George is at the lyceum during Steeler games and him yelling at Wayne. I loved Uncle George as if he was my own blood uncle. I will miss him dearly so Rest in Peace Uncle George and fly high with the Angels. Love Reachelle.
