Obituary For George F. Rouda

February 22, 1931 - January 31, 2019

Rouda, George Frank, peacefully on Thursday, January 31, 2019 of Baldwin, formerly of Mt. Washington.

Loving father of Jill L. Carroll; proud grandfather of Alex and Katie Carroll; son of the late Frank and Josephine (Witkowski) Rouda; brother of Jean Mercalde and the late Ruth DeSimone. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. George was a member of the GBU, an avid golfer and loved to travel and play guitar. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday, February 7, 2019 from 2-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, February 8, 2019 in St. Mary of the Mount Church at 11:30 a.m. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. If desired, family suggests contributions to a charity of one's choice in memory of George Rouda.

    My deepest sympathies, to Jill, Alex and Katie Carroll. My love and never ending support will always be with you. Your dad and grandfather was truly a special human being whom had an ability to make all laugh around him. His legacy lives on in his daughter Jill whom inherited this trait from her dad. She has his quick wit and humor. George was so lucky to have such a great daughter to care for him, devoting herself to visiting and taking care of him no matter how exhausted she was. Rest in peace, Mr Rouda, and Jill you finally can be at peace knowing both parents are in eternal light of the lord and they would want you to start taking care of Jill.
