Obituary For George J. Mattingley, Sr.

Age 90, of West Mifflin formerly of Baldwin, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth "Betty Lee" (Klein) Mattingley; loving father of Beth Ann (the late Donald) Pope, George J. Jr., (Alberta) Mattingley, and Amy Jo (Eric) Weiss; grandfather of Donald (Kristin) Pope, Nicole Mattingley, Michael (Lauren) Pope, Joshua (the late Brittany) Mattingley, Steven (Rachel) Weiss, Jaclyn Weiss Koffler, and Andrew Pope; Great-grandfather of 17; son of the late George and Lucy Emanda (Smith) Mattingley; Pre-deceased by his two brothers and five sisters. George's family would like to thank OSPTA Hospice for their loving care and would like to especially thank Nurse Stephanie and NA Lauren. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, PA 15227, on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 and Thursday, April 16, 2026 from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 17, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in Spencer United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or stjude.org.

    Uncle George you will be missed so much ,but now you are with the love of you life Aunt Betty and your brother Julian.you accomplished what you wanted to do, was to be the oldest sibling when you passed you did that and got your angel wings love you. The Family is in my thoughts and prayers.
