Obituary For Gloria A. Sheldon

December 5, 1943 - January 26, 2014

Sheldon, Gloria, age 70, of Pittsburgh, passed away on January 26, 2014 in Westfield, Indiana in presence of loved ones, after her battle with ALS.

Funeral services will be on Friday, January 31, 2014 at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15227, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM and a service to follow at noon.

Gloria was born in Philadelphia, PA to Ann and Joseph Semsey on December 5th, 1943. She grew up in Philadelphia, only to find her lifelong home across the state in the city of Pittsburgh. She worked as a loyal Benefits Specialist for Highmark for the last 15 years. Gloria enjoyed spending time with loved ones, cheering for the Steelers, and exploring the greater Pittsburgh area.

Gloria is survived by children Pamela (Sheldon) Spaulding, Elizabeth (Sheldon) Cottongim, and Douglas Sheldon, sister Joanne Brambley, and mother Ann Semsey. In addition, she was a loving grandmother to Sydney and Evan Spaulding, Brayden and Katelyn Cottongim, and Michael Sheldon.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to the ALS Association of Western Pennsylvania/West Virginia Chapter, 416 Lincoln Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15209.
