Harold S. Stein, age 88, passed peacefully on Sunday, September 1, 2024, of the North Side.

Husband of Elizabeth "Betty Jean" Stein; father of Cherylynne (the late Dr. Kevin) Altman; Popops of Ginamaria (Anthony), Giovanni (Megan), Nathaniel (Kelsi) and Jacob (Emma Branch); great-grandfather of Alexandra, Julianna, Victoria, Dante, Theodore and Luke; brother of Bernard (the late Patricia) Stein. Also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Harry proudly served his country in the US Army as a paratrooper. He served as a company commander in the American Legion Post #935. Harry was an avid hunter and fisherman. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 12-4 p.m. where a blessing service will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. .
