Obituary For Helen B. Toomey

October 27, 1927 - March 1, 2017

Toomey, Helen B. (Fogarty) Age 89, after a brief illness, on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, of Whitehall.

Beloved wife of the late Lawrence E. Toomey; loving mother of Lawrence (Laura), Michael (Debbie), Kathleen and Gregory (Mary Ellen); grandmother of Raymond, Larry III, Claire, Twain (Trish) and Todd (Dawn); great-grandmother of Megan, Erin, Levi, Wyatt and Cason; great-great grandmother of Adalyn; sister of Margaret (Joe) Devlin, Cecilia (Howard) Winter, Sarah (Bill) Hamilton and the late Mary (Will) Parker and Florence. Helen enjoyed spending time with her loving family and her many friends. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday, March 5, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Monday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church, 5200 Greenridge Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15236.

    Greg. Saw your mother's notice in the paper a few days ago. My prayers for her soul and for you and the family; though I am sure she is looking down from heaven. I am on a business trip out of town and could not stop by in person to pay my respects, so I hope this reaches you. Leo Daly.
