June 1, 1922 - November 20, 2016

Onda, Helen E. (Cervenak)

Age 94, of Baldwin, peacefully on Sunday, November 20, 2016, with family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Stephen Onda; cherished mother of Bernadette Onda Bohn (Jeff) of Malvern, PA, Thomas Onda (Kathy) of St. Albans, WV, and Gloria Onda Kirkwood (Bernie) of Baldwin. Helen was a loving and devoted grandmother to Caroline and Michelle Kirkwood, Capt. Alexander Bohn, Nicole Onda and Jody Eriksson; beloved sister of the late Anna Lopata and Michael Cervenak. She is survived by many nieces and nephews but was especially grateful to her nephews Eugene Lopata (Martha) of Longmont, CO and Regis Lopata (Kathy) of Larned, KS for their dedication and abundant love. Helen enjoyed daily conversations with her lifelong friend and dear sister-in-law Juliana Onda. She devoted her life to her family and was accomplished at baking, sewing and crocheting. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 1:00-8:30 p.m. Funeral prayer on Wednesday morning at 9:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Apostles Parish at St. Albert the Great Church at 10:30 a.m. Please send condolences to www.johnfslater.com.
