Obituary For Iolanda M. DePasquale

Peacefully and surrounded by her children, age 87, Iolanda from Bethel Park (originally Brookline), was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Attilio and Drusia Sciulli; her beloved husband of 59 years Donato; and her sister Giuseppina (Roberto) DePasquale. Iolanda leaves behind her beloved daughter Maria Camilla (George) Wright; son Donato, Jr. (Diane) DePasquale; she was the loving grandma to Phillip, Peter, Domenic and Nina; beloved sister of Idalina (Leonardo) Reale and sister-in-law of Federico (Connie) DePasquale. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Iolanda was born in the town of Gamberale, Abruzzo, Italy. She emigrated to the United States from Australia in 1966 and made Pittsburgh her home. She was a phenomenal cook and was dedicated to taking care of her family. Iolanda and her family will be forever grateful for her loving caregivers and her Bella's who took care of her at The Sheridan at Bethel Park. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Resurrection Parish, St. Thomas More Church at 10:00 a.m.

    So many memories of "Momma D" since I have known Dan since we were Freshman in High School. Would love to call the house and hear, "No, Deni no home." She was the best, always smiling and a great woman. God Bless you Momma D and rest in peace.

    I love you so much and I'm going to be missing you!!! From one of her Bella's you can now rest easy and just know your memory will forever live on in my heart. You always made me smile and I know when you seen me you would smile also. To the family, I love you guys and just know that I will always be here if you need anything.
