Smith, Irene A. (Lewis) Age 73, on Sunday, June 9, 2019, of Castle Shannon.

Beloved wife of Harold "Hal" M. Smith; loving mother of Laura A. (Richard) Thompson, Jr., Donald H. (Suzanne) Smith, Harold M. (Amy Lynn) Smith, Jr., Renee G. (Timothy) Recker and Kimberley (Donald) Christy; grandmother of Richard Thompson, III, Ryan Bopp, Angela (Stephen) Peters, Christina (Jayson) Monroe, Zachary (Katy) Bopp, Nicholas Smith, Taylor Smith, Cory Bopp, Nicole Recker, Benjamin Smith, Sydney Smith, Justin, Joshua and Luke Recker; great-grandmother of Madison Monroe, Myles Gratzmiller and Wrenna Peters; daughter of the late George and Irene (Schanck) Schoenberger; sister of Thomas (Patricia) Lewis and the late Robert Lewis and Lawrence Lewis; sister-in-law of Patricia (Kenneth) Robinson and the late Edith (Dale) Eisenhuth. Also survived by nieces, nephews, friends and her fur baby Bear. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Rd., Brentwood 15227, Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m.

    Laura & Richie Thompson, Tina,&Ricky . It Iâ??m so sorry for your loss . It saddens me to hear about Ireneâ??s passing. All though I havenâ??t seen her in a while I know she cared greatly for her family. Loved her kids and grandkids. Always made me feel welcome when I seen her . She Reminded me of my mom in a lot of those ways . It will take awhile for the pain to ease, but it never goes away. Take comfort that sheâ??s in a better place . May she Rest In Peace.
