Jacquelyn Ann Allridge, 77, formerly of Dormont, PA passed away on January 4, 2024 from complications of metastatic stomach cancer, which she valiantly fought with grit and grace over the last ten months. Jackie worked as a pharmacy technician at Bernie’s Pharmacy, Revco, and CVS in Dormont for 30+ years, enthusiastically serving her customers with her signature dry wit and solicitous care. Many lasting friendships resulted because of her dedication and kindness. To Jackie, there was no higher calling than that of the consummate caretaker. Always, she put others first. She took care of her family with the selflessness of a devoted Wife, Mother and loving Grandmother. Beneath her quiet demeanor was the huge heart of an ever-constant cheerleader. She perfected the role of the supportive, behind-the-scenes confidante. While her daughter fondly referred to her as her ‘Petite Queen’, Jackie’s strength of character and perseverance stood tall and never wavered. The heart and love she brought to her role as grandmother to Thomas Zachary (Nicole) and as Gaga to Bennett William was unbridled joy! She often said her greatest accomplishment was her children, who loved her beyond measure. Spending time with her best friend and earth angel, Babe, was a friendship made in heaven. If you knew Jackie, you are well-aware of her sharp sense of humor and her special affinity for The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. Every holiday, she looked forward to watching the movie with family. Her Christmas tree and home were adorned with ornaments and decorations reflecting the movie. Jackie is survived by her beloved children Thomas (Kellie) Allridge of Downingtown, PA, Tammi (Daniel) Kramer of Upper St. Clair, PA and grandchildren Thomas Zachary (Nicole) Allridge and Bennett William Kramer. Her brother, William, who she adored, and his wife, Wilma, of Fredericksburg, VA also survive her, as does her sister-in-law, Margie Allridge of Baldwin, PA. She leaves behind several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas, her parents, Vera and Wilbert Smith, and her brother-in-law, Robert Allridge. Family and friends will be received at JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 p.m., with a blessing service at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the UPMC Children’s Hospital Foundation.
