March 6, 1938 - June 29, 2017 Sandridge, James A., age 79, on Thursday, June 29, 2017 of Whitehall, born in Dunbar WV. Loving husband of Marie Sandridge; son of the late William C. and Bertha A. Sandridge; father of James A (Tana) Sandridge II of Imperial, Shawn E. (Donna) Sandridge of Burgettstown, Gregg (Dawn) Sandridge of Garland, TX, Brian (Patricia) Sandridge of Wellsburg, WV and Maureen (Gil) Wagner of Pittsburgh; brother of the late William Carl, Jr. and David L. Sandridge; grandfather of Jon, Michael, Joey, Heather, Brian, Josh, Brock Sandridge, Alexis Wagner and the late Derek Sandridge; step-father of Maria B. (Curtis) Polen and Bill F. (Lani) Brunett; step-grandfather of Nicole, Alexandra Polen and Lorelei Brunett; also survived by seven great-grandchildren. James was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a driver-salesman with Schneider's Dairy for 39 years. He was a local country music performer known as "Jimmy Sands" and founder of the "Country Jets Band" which performed in and around Pittsburgh for 25 years. He was the Leader of the Senior Entertainment Group "The Primetimers" and was a current member of the theater group "Sassy Seniors." There will be no visitation.
