Age 79, of South Park, passed away on his birthday on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

Loving husband of the late Darlene (Smith); beloved father of Nicole of Colorado Springs; grandfather of Makenna and Ella; brother of Janet Fitzpatrick of North Ridgeville, OH. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Jim worked for U.S. Steel for 38 years before retiring in 2004. Jim loved his dogs: Heidi, George, Smokey, Saydee, Daisy and Bella Bean. He also enjoyed playing golf and volunteering at Animal Friends. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Friday, October 3, 2025 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home Chapel of John F. Slater Funeral Home on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Burial at Jefferson Memorial Park to immediately follow the service. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested Memorials, in Jim’s name, be made to Animal Friends, 562 Camp Horne Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
