Obituary For James E. Gallagher

Age 77, of Whitehall, formerly of the Southside, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 11, 2024.

Beloved companion of Christina Lakomy of over 40 years; loving father of Shawn Gallagher (Pam Odom); proud grandfather of Makayla; brother of Judy Wesolek; Also survived by niece Dana Benton, great-nephew Dylan Benton, and great-niece Kelcie Sharrock. Jim was an avid skiier, golfer, and bowler and was the Pittsburgh Ski Club Treasurer for 12 years. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, PA 15227 Tuesday, May 14, 2024 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Wednesday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church at 10:00 a.m. Please send condolences to www.johnfslater.com

    With sincere sympathy to Chris and Jim's family. My first PSC trip was led by Jim to Big Sky Montana. So very thankful he recovered from throat cancer and continued skiing. During another trip, several of us rode the lift together. Arriving at the top, no one could decide which trail to take next. Jim got kind of disgusted and called it 'the committee meeting.' Laugh out loud funny. Every day in Heaven is a powder day. Rest in peace my friend.
