Obituary For James Edward "Jim" Doring

Age 73, of Baldwin, formerly of Mt. Oliver, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.

Beloved husband of 50 years to Linda M. (Speca) Doring; loving father of James "Jamie" (Anne) Doring and Jason A. (Kathleen) Doring; proud grandpap of Elizabeth, Abigail, Molly, Amelia and Oliver; son of the late George and Antoinette "Toni" Doring; brother of the late George Doring. He retired after 30 years of service from Amtrak as a car inspector. Jim could fix anything with an engine. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday, May 8, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where a blessing service will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.

We shared many lunches talking about cars and sharing laughs....he was the kindest and most gentle friend I ever had.
