Obituary For James F. Brown

Age 76, of Bethel Park, in Dallas, Texas on Friday, August 5, 2022 surrounded by his wife, daughter, and son. Jim was born on September 18, 1945 in Pittsburgh, only son of the late J. Donald and Margaret Brown. Jim served from June of 1968 through June of 1970 in the Army during the Vietnam War. Jim graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in geology and worked for PennDot and then the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh Division, retiring after 32 1/2 years. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Kathleen (Repasky) Brown. Jim is the dear father of Jennifer M. Jerome (Jason) and James M. Brown. He is the proud and loving grandfather (Pop-Pop) of Alaina, Lillian, Natalie Jerome, and Julia, Gregory Brown. Dear brother of Patricia McCranie (late Ron), Marleen Debold (Ron), Marjorie Podgorski (Dan), Kathleen Buck (late Bob), Jeanne Taylor (late Forest), Donna Miller (Tom), Barbara Tuite (Ken), Eileen Vereneck (Ray), Amy Jo Cavolo. Also, caring brother-in-law of Edward Repasky (Diane) and the late John Repasky (Mary). Loved by many nieces and nephews. Jim loved to bike and walk. He enjoyed his tea, Cheerios, salads, and apples. He was an avid reader of books, newspapers, and the computer. Jim loved watching Jeopardy, Colbert, old movies, and football. Most of all he loved his family. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 2-6 p.m. A blessing service will be held on Monday, August 15, 2022 at noon. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies will full military honors.
