Obituary For James P. King

March 1, 1934 - January 23, 2017

King, James P. Age 82, on Monday, January 23, 2017, peacefully, and surrounded by his loving family, of Brookline.

Beloved husband of Bernice (Gawlas) for over 52 years; loving father of Mary Lynn (Kevin) Keyho, James (Rosanne) King, Jr. and the late Paul (survived by Aleta) King; grandfather of Cody, Brianna, Bobby, Jacob, Jacque and John; brother of Dolores Chiplock, Blanche Cannon and the late Robert, Thomas, Donald and Paul King; also survived by his loving nieces and nephews. Jim was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during the Korean War. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, Thursday from 6-8 p.m and Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Saturday morning at 9:00. Mass of Christian Burial in Resurrection Church at 10 AM. If desired, family suggests contributions to Brookline Christian Food Pantry, 1036 Brookline Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15226 or Church of the Resurrection St. Vincent DePaul Society, 1100 Creedmore Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15226.
