Obituary For Jane Ryan Young

Young, Jane Ryan "Aunt Jane", on August 17, 2024, was reunited with her husband of 52 years, the late Ellis "Unkie" Young. She was the sister to Ruth Dolores Finnell and Bill Ryan. Also survived by 49 nieces and nephews spanning three generations. Jane grew up in Knoxville and spent her adult life living in Baldwin as well as basking in the sun on the boat and watching the sun set in Pymatuning. She loved to bake, sew outfits for the kids, decorate the house for the holidays, collect windchimes and her "scratch-offs". Her two passions were The Bingo and her family. She never did without bingo and her family never did without her love. She will be missed and she did it her way. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Valentine Church at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.

    I was so sorry to hear of Jane's passing. She was a very special customer of mine at Wesbanco Bank in Baldwin!! We just connected right away! Had lots of good, long talks! I missed seeing her after I left the bank in 2021. May she rest in peace now with her beloved Ellis. Sincerely, Lori McCarthy

    My mom was a first cousin of Butch's and Jane baby-sat me many times back in the 70's. I have many memories of that, she was so much fun! We all loved Jane and are so very sorry to learn of her passing. May she rest in eternal peace. Love, Robin
