Born in Pittsburgh, PA, lived a life defined by faith, service, and leadership, passed peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. She began her journey as a teacher and a devoted member of the Sisters of St. Joseph, shaping young minds with patience, kindness, and conviction.

Janet later expanded her calling through higher education, earning master’s degrees in business and health care administration in both the United States and Nigeria. She went on to build a distinguished career as a health care executive, improving care and access to care for countless individuals and communities across continents.

She was the beloved wife of the late Jack Comiskey; devoted mother of Margaret and AJ; cherished grandmother of Jasmyn, Paris, Alex, Emmanuel, Benny and great-grandmother of Axel, Selyn, Junior. Janet was also a treasured aunt whose wisdom and warmth touched all who knew her. Her profound compassion, strength of spirit, and unwavering commitment to others remain a lasting gift to her family and to all whose lives she enriched.

Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor Janet’s life and legacy at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Sunday, December 14, 2025 from 12-6 p.m. where a blessing service will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Michaels Cemetery, 2729 S 18th Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15210.
