Obituary For Jean DeAngelo Trout

Trout, Jean (DeAngelo), age 68, of Pittsburgh, passed away on January 2, 2023. Beloved wife of Gene; mother of Cara Trout Golda of Chandler, Arizona, and Katy (Trout) Palma of Los Angeles, California; loving mother-in-law of Anthony Palma; adoring grandmother of Paige Golda; she is also survived by her three brothers Robert, Ronald and Stephen DeAngelo as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Jean was the daughter of Nancy (Kiss) DeAngelo of Brookline and the late Genaro DeAngelo. She was passionate about her family; her greatest joys in life were being a mother to her two daughters as well as “Nana” to her 7-year-old granddaughter. Jean enjoyed traveling as well as classical Italian music and cuisine. She devoted much time to caring for her two dogs, documenting her Italian heritage in pursuit of dual citizenship, perfecting her family recipes, and studying the Italian language. Jean had a flair for planning festive family events. Her infectious zeal for life and her generous and thoughtful spirit were cherished by all who knew her. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Friday, January 13, 2023 from 1-3 & 5-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass in Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Elizabeth Church at 10:00. While I didn't get to see Jeannie after moving back in the middle of COVID, we kept in touch on email about family, genealogy and news. I've never forgotten how sweet she was growing up and how much she reminded me of her Dad. Our prayers for all the family and may she rest in peace with her Dad. Robin & Bill

I will miss sitting at Mum's kitchen table, looking toward the front door and being happy to see it was Jeannie coming in on a Sunday, always with a warm smile, often bringing some tasty treats to share. We had so many laughs, shared our travel daydreams, talked about life and family, and tried in vain to get Mum to let us do the dishes. I loved my sister-in-law, and the kitchen won't be the same without her.
