Obituary For Jean M. Rupert

May 23, 1955 - May 13, 2019

Rupert, Jean M., on Monday, May 13, 2019 of Baldwin Borough.

Unexpectedly, on Monday, we lost a beloved niece, cousin, neighbor and friend. Jean would have turned 64 on May 23rd with plans to celebrate her birthday with cousins at a Pirate's game. When she was seven years old, her father, Charles "Chuck" Rupert, passed away leaving his young daughter a lasting gift of a wonderful and unique sense of humor. Jean's mother, Rose (Burger) Rupert, died at Marian Manor less than three years ago at the age of 95. Jean continued visiting Marian Manor spreading her special joy, comic relief and "donuts" to staff, patients and families alike. Jean's legacy will be her caring and thoughtful nature for everyone in her life. She never failed to call or visit to discuss a myriad of subjects, be it the Pirates, the stock market or the annual football pool. Jean graduated from Duquesne University in 1977 and worked in reservations at the Sheraton, Station Square for thirty plus years. She is survived by her aunt, Mary Lou (Burger) Wilhelm of Hilton Head, SC as well as many heartbroken cousins, neighbors and friends. Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Friday morning at 9:45. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Apostles Parish, St. Wendelin Church, 2728 Custer Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15227 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family requests donation be made in Jean's memory to Marian Manor, 2695 Winchester Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15220.
