Obituary For Jeanne Ann Hoff Dingel

Age 89, of Whitehall Borough, PA passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021.

She was born November 29, 1931 in her parents’ home in Bethel Township, PA. Jeanne was employed by USX Shareholders Department for over 26 years and retired in November 1997. She was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church in Bethel Park, PA. Jeanne was a member of the Misfits Bowling League and The Ciloets. Jeanne was predeceased by her parents, Elmer and Olive Hoff; sister Edythe Hoff Millar; brothers Elmer Hoff, Jr. and Donald Hoff; and nephew G. Frederick Millar, Jr. Survivors include her nieces Nancy Hoff Barsotti; Margaret Ann Hoff Coulter; Elizabeth Millar; Loriann Hoff Laurenzano; Karen Hoff Spinnler; Susan Hoff; nephew Greg Hoff; and 8 great nephews and nieces. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Bethel Presbyterian Church, 2999 Bethel Church Road, Bethel Park, PA. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the church. The Interment will be held following the service at Bethel Cemetery next to Bethel Presbyterian Church. Arrangements handled by John F.     When Donna and I were in our early 20's we purchased a duplex in Whitehall borough. Our neighbor who became a good friend bought one as well. She was a recently divorced lady about 15 years our senior. She was a very determined woman who was not about to be taken advantage of. I admired her perseverance and her ability to make things happen on her own. Fast forward 50 years ...... she passed away last Tuesday. I was not able to make the memorial but found my way into the cemetery where I searched every fresh grave site until I found hers. I said some prayers and laid a crumble of dirt on her fresh mound, one for me and one for my wife. I returned to the parking lot where I said another prayer, and just then a feather fell and landed on my windshield and blew off with the wind. Wait was it a feather or a leaf, I got out and searched the asphalt lot and saw leaves. But I Didn't give up.... lo and behold there it was behind the concrete parking bumper. Was it a message from Jeanne? I would like to think so. I'm saving the feather with my remembrances of loved one's that have passed. It may just be a feather from an Angel. Rest in peace my dear friend Jeanne.

    Mary (Greselin) Wrobel

    When I moved into Prospect Park I would take the bus into town every morning. That's where I first met Jeanne riding the bus. Everyone was very friendly and we all talked while riding into town. It became a very enjoyable ride each morning. I further leaned that Jeanne worked in the same office building as I did (USX Building). I worked on the 44th floor and Jeanne was on the 60th floor. Through the years we became friends. However, I moved to Whitehall and no longer took the bus into town but would see Jeanne from time to time. I have very fond memories of our conversations about our family, friends, and what was happening in our lives. She lived a good life and I will cherish having the opportunity to have met her.
