Obituary For Jo Anne (Sinopoli) Pope

Age 67, peacefully at home surrounded by her family, on Friday, September 12, 2025, of Brentwood, formerly of Beechview.

Beloved wife of 44 years to James M. Pope; loving mom of James M. (Jessica) Pope and Andrew J. (Bridget) Pope; proud Grandma of Hannah, Jimmy, Parker, Piper, Ellie and Miles; daughter of the late Albert and Anna Mae Sinopoli; cherished sister of Ronald Sinopoli, Nancy (Ronald) Gestiehr, Albert Sinopoli, Donna (the late Gary) Dench, Clare Sinopoli, Kathleen (the late Frank) Colosimo and Janet Sinopoli; sister-in-law of Joseph (Debbie) Pope and the late Anthony Pope. Will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. Jo Anne and her family would like to thank Dr. Diane Buch-Barker, Stephanie Smrekar, all the compassionate nurses and staff of Bethel Park Cancer Center, Dr. Jordan Allen and Shelley, and Dr. Thomas Krivak for their knowledge, skills and compassion.
Friends will be received at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227 on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral prayer on Wednesday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Sylvester Church at 10:30 a.m. If desired, family suggests contributions to Catholic Charities, 111 Boulevard of the Allies, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
